To enhance your
relaxation and revitalization during your stay at
Living
Waters Spa, we’ve included yoga. We
practice indoors when it’s hot, and move outside by the
water when the temperatures cool. Our yoga classes are
clothing optional!
Our gentle flow yoga is for everyone. If you’ve never done an asana
before, if you’ve taken a few vague classes at a gym, or if
you’re a committed student of Iyengar or Bikram or subscribe
to the philosophies of Anusara or Amrit yoga and the Posture
of Consciousness, we welcome you to our practice. Since
yoga, in all its forms, is a deeply personal experience,
everyone can participate. Everyone can benefit.
We believe yoga is about meeting yourself where you are,
breathing into that place, and creating space. With our
bodies lengthened and opened, we rest into that reality and,
through breathwork and the quieting of our minds, extend the
opening, the reality.
In other words, if you come into a forward bend and cannot touch
your toes, you touch where you comfortably can – knees,
shins, ankles – and then you breathe. You focus on your
breath, you feel the sensation. You
don’t make a choice for it or against it; it just is, and
you rest in that choiceless awareness. Your breath sinks you
a little deeper into the pose, your hamstrings soften,
sacral ligaments relax, and your reach extends a little
farther. You feel release, a flood of prana (energy).
Yoga is a beautiful way to begin your day at
Living Waters
Spa: You can make a salutation to the desert sun
(surya
namaskar), and salute the San Bernardinos with the mountain
pose (tadasana).
You can
also book a private session. A message therapist
will guide you through 60 minutes of asanas
combined with facilitated stretching and massage
techniques to help you go even deeper in your
yoga practice.
